About us
Shane Harlequin Band
Six of the most versatile professional musicians working today, fronted by Shane McGrath. Nearly 3,000 gigs on, we still play every wedding with the same passion.
Our story
Harlequin play weddings, corporate functions, launches and public and government events, with a repertoire of more than 3,800 modern, pop, rock, jazz and rock and roll classics. Entertainment is the whole point: we love nothing more than leaving an event exhausted, knowing the room got everything we had.
Our front man Shane knows every way to get your guests onto their feet. We're confident enough in him to offer a money-back guarantee, and in all these years nobody has asked for it.
We've won awards and accolades over more than a decade from Ireland's leading wedding publications, industry professionals and couples, and played venues from the Temple Gate Hotel in Clare to Solis Lough Eske Castle in Donegal.
Services
Wedding ceremony
Our pianist and front man Shane perform a planned, personal recital of gospel, classical and modern songs: Bocelli, Freddie Mercury, Al Green, Simon & Garfunkel, The Beatles, Springsteen. Most ceremony hymns are available, and we help plan the ceremony music with you.
Drinks reception
A low-volume jazz trio playing Sinatra, Dean Martin, Bublé, Nat King Cole and Ray Charles while guests mingle, or a traditional Irish and ballads set. A more serious jazz set fronted by saxophonist Michael Buckley, or a guitar duo, can also be arranged.
Evening reception
Around three hours of live music, about an hour longer than most wedding bands in Ireland. We read the room, balance the styles so no guest is left out, play your special requests live, and learn songs we don't already know.
Wedding DJ
When the band strikes the last chord, Shane carries on as resident DJ, keeping the floor full into the small hours, whether you want pop, rock or club.
Pricing
Every wedding is quoted individually, depending on your date, venue, travel and which services you'd like. Tell us about your day and we'll send you a written, itemised quote.
